What is TinniCalm?
TinniCalm is a tinnitus relief app that provides a customizable sound mixer with therapeutic sounds across 6 categories: 23 on Android and 25 on iPhone, where the app is called Quiet Again. It includes built-in presets, a frequency finder for notch therapy, educational articles about tinnitus, and a sleep timer with gradual fade-out.
Is TinniCalm free?
Yes, it is free to download on both platforms. On Android, an optional one-time premium unlock ($9.99 in the US) adds all sounds, 4 mixer channels, the Frequency Finder and Notch Therapy, with no subscription. On iPhone, Quiet Again Premium adds all sounds, 4-sound mixing and the 12-week listening plan. It is available as an annual subscription ($49.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers), a monthly subscription ($9.99 a month) or a one-time lifetime purchase ($79.99). These are US prices; prices in other countries may differ. If you bought or downloaded the app on the App Store before it switched to subscriptions, you keep full access.
Does TinniCalm collect my data?
TinniCalm has no accounts and no servers of its own. Your sounds, presets, settings and listening history stay on your device, and we do not collect your name, email, location or health information. Your purchase status is handled by RevenueCat and Google Play or the App Store. On Android, Meta's advertising-measurement SDK receives your device's advertising ID and app events, to learn which ads lead to installs and purchases. On iPhone, while analytics is on (you can turn it off in Settings), Quiet Again sends usage and purchase events to Google Analytics for Firebase and the Meta SDK; Meta receives your advertising identifier only if you allow tracking. See the privacy policy for Android or iPhone for full details.
What is the Frequency Finder?
The Frequency Finder helps you identify the pitch of your tinnitus. Once identified, you can use notch therapy techniques — filtering out that specific frequency from background sounds — which research suggests may help reduce the perception of tinnitus over time. The premium Notch Therapy sound does this with pink noise. The Frequency Finder is free on iPhone and part of premium on Android.
What presets are included?
TinniCalm comes with curated presets including Rainy Night, Ocean Calm, and Deep Focus. Each preset is a carefully balanced mix of therapeutic sounds designed for specific scenarios like sleeping, relaxation, or concentration.
How does the sleep timer work?
Choose 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 minutes and TinniCalm will gradually fade out the sounds as the timer approaches zero. This natural fade-out avoids sudden silence that might wake you up or make your tinnitus more noticeable.
Can I restore my premium purchase?
Yes. If you reinstall the app or switch devices, you can restore your purchase through Google Play on Android or the App Store on iPhone. Go to the app's settings or the premium screen and tap "Restore Purchases."
The app isn't working as expected. What should I do?
Try these steps: (1) Make sure your device volume is turned up and not on silent mode. (2) Close and reopen the app. (3) Restart your device. (4) Check for app updates in Google Play or the App Store. If the issue persists, contact us at yaroslav@heldiglab.com with a description of the problem and your device model.
Tips for Best Results
Use headphones
For the most effective sound therapy and frequency targeting, use over-ear headphones or quality earbuds at a comfortable volume.
Keep volume low
Sound therapy works best at a level just below or at the volume of your tinnitus. Loud volumes can worsen hearing over time.
Be consistent
Regular use — especially during sleep or quiet times when tinnitus is most noticeable — tends to produce the best results over weeks and months.
